Under the project director, you will help identify and document implementation issues, develop implementation plans, identify project site constraints, the sequence and phasing of work, and update the worksite technical monitoring plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
For awarded projects, while work is being carried out, you will act as the client’s representative to the project’s stakeholders and:
- Act as an intermediary between contractors or the construction manager, the client organization and professionals;
- Receive contractors’ work breakdown structure, validate it or have it validated and monitor compliance. When necessary, you will use the clauses in the contract documents to ensure that they are adhered to;
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of the contract documents, according to the rules of the trade and in the best interests of the company;
- Track expected deliverables with those responsible for these deliverables to avoid delays in site operations, such as issuing and commenting on shop drawings, responding to the contractor’s requests for information (“RFI”), issuing and commenting on work plans, visit reports, etc.;
- Plan, coordinate and participate in coordination and site meetings;
- Analyze the relevance of requests for technical changes, coordinate their issue and track them. You will monitor costs and document the entire process using client tracking tools;
- Track the overall schedule of contractors and the schedule for the coming weeks (P3W);
- Participate in commissioning activities in collaboration with the commissioning officer, professionals, contractors and the client organization, and track the progress of these activities;
- Act in a manner to avoid conflict and work collaboratively to resolve disputes;
- When applicable to the project, collect data to produce the project’s earned value and actual cost;
- Act as an intermediary between contractors, professionals and the client;
- Ensure that the work is performed in accordance with the requirements of the contract documents;
- Track deliverables;
- Coordinate site meetings;
- Coordinate implementation of changes to how work is done;
- Track documentation;
- Participate in commissioning activities;
- Track deficiencies.
Skills
Required Qualifications
Training and Job Experience
- Bachelor of Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering combined with four (4) to ten (10) years of experience in the construction field (civil/mechanical or building);

College degree in Building Services Technology combined with seven (7) to fifteen (15) years of experience in building services, preferably in consulting engineering, drafting and site supervision;
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary construction work related to real property infrastructure projects (schools, hospitals, airports, offices, food factories, electromechanical facilities, etc.) two (2) of which were valued at over $8M and for which the client was a public body;
- Has an ASP construction card.
Key Competencies
- Good command of the French language both orally and in writing, knowledge of English an asset;
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, including MS Project.
